Spring 2024 in the Hamptons: 5 Activities to Explore

As temperatures warm up, many people are eager to plan their summer getaway to the Hamptons. But why wait until summer when there’s already so much to do in the Hamptons right now?

The Hamptons has become a year-round destination for its events, boutique shopping, renowned restaurants and other attractions. Springtime is the perfect time to explore the area, especially as the bucolic landscapes begin to bloom.
If you’re looking for something to do this spring with friends or loved ones, here are 5 activities to explore in the Hamptons.

So, which do you choose?

In this post, we’ll be focusing specifically on three wineries on the South Fork, a.k.a. the Hamptons.

When people talk about Long Island wine tours or the “wine trail,” they’re often referring to wineries on the North Fork. That’s because there are dozens of vineyards situated close together, particularly along Route 25. This allows visitors to explore multiple locations in one outing, hopping from one vineyard to the next (safely and comfortably, of course, in one of our chauffeured luxury vehicles at Jackrabbit Limo).

But the North Fork is not the Hamptons.

If you’re looking for the full Hamptons experience this spring – not just the incredible vineyards, but also world-class dining, boutique shopping, beaches, celebrity sightings and more – then you’ll want to head to the South Fork.

Here are the three wineries to check out.

Spring Fling 2024 at Parrish Art Museum

The Spring Fling has become a significant annual event at the Parrish Art Museum, which is a popular destination in Water Mill focusing exclusively on works by local artists. This event raises money for the museum’s year-round programs, while offering delicious food, wine pairings, a silent auction and more. This year’s Spring Fling will celebrate the art of Simón Vega and will also feature a scavenger hunt and opportunities to create your own art. (Bonus: The museum is located right next to Duck Walk Vineyards, perfect for a wine tasting before the Fling.)
When:
  • Saturday, May 4, 2024, 7:30pm-11pm.
Where:
  • 279 Montauk Highway, Water Mill, NY

Montauk Point Lighthouse Tour

Spring is a beautiful time to tour this historic Montauk Point Lighthouse, which is located on the far eastern tip of Long Island. Built in 1796, it’s one of the oldest working lighthouses in the United States, offering daily tours and breathtaking 360-degree views of the Block Island Sound, the Atlantic Ocean and points west. Visitors can also explore the museum and the rocky beaches surrounding the lighthouse.

  • Open daily through June 10:30am-4:30pm
Where:

May Day 5K

You do not have to be a runner to have a great time at this annual 5k in East Hampton, which raises awareness for mental health and raises funds for the Tyler Project. Participants can run or walk at any pace, making it great for all ages and abilities. Or, you can cheer on others from the sidelines: the course starts at East Hampton Main Beach, so regardless of whether you participate or not, there’s plenty of opportunity to explore the beautiful waterfront and magnificent homes of East Hampton.

Where:

North Fork Winery Tours

There’s no wrong time to tour the breezy, beautiful vineyards of the North Fork. But there’s something special about seeing these picturesque fields transforming to a lush green color during the spring months. There are dozens of wineries to choose from on the North Fork, so the easiest way to explore the area is with a chauffeured wine tour. This allows you to experience tastings at several destinations, safely and comfortably, without doing any driving yourself. Several wineries are also pet-friendly and kid-friendly, making them great for families.

Montauk Music Festival

Now in its 13th year, this popular music festival offers 4 days of live music at multiple venues throughout the seaside village of Montauk. A celebration of Montauk’s thriving music scene, this year’s main stage will be at the beautiful Montauk Yacht Club, where you can bring a beach chair and enjoy all the music you want for a single admission fee (children under 5 are free). You can also catch performers at numerous local restaurants and coffeeshops. In total, more than 400 artists will participate in the festival, encompassing numerous musical styles: alternative, rock, folk, pop, Americana, reggae, blues, jazz, bluegrass, hip-hop, country and more.
