Slide into Summer: 3 Chill Hamptons Beaches to Experience in 2025

Memorial Day is quickly approaching, which means now is the time to start planning your summer kickoff with a Hamptons beach getaway.

Here’s what you need to know.

First Time Visiting?

If you’re new to the Hamptons, then you probably already know of its reputation as a summer retreat for the wealthy. But you don’t have to be “rich” to enjoy its beautiful beaches and activities all over the South Fork – and yes, that includes the more secluded beaches too.

The area known as “the Hamptons” encompasses a long stretch of communities with many different beaches. These beaches are located not only along the Atlantic Ocean but also on the various bays and coves, such as Shinnecock Bay, Mecox Bay, Noyac Bay and the Peconic Bays. This opens up a wide swath of shoreline for you to choose from, and each destination offers something unique.

Which Hamptons Beaches to Explore

Last summer, we explored 6 public beaches in the Hamptons that are popular for visitors because they’re open to everyone, such as Main Beach in East Hampton or Atlantic Avenue Beach in Amagansett.

Those are still great options, especially for Memorial Day festivities. But today, we’re highlighting 3 beaches that are slightly off the beaten path. These beaches aren’t necessarily “hidden secrets,” but they generally have a chiller scene, perfect for a low-key weekend in the Hamptons.

Getting Around: #1 Hamptons Car Service

Travel easily and comfortably during your summer trip to the Hamptons. Jackrabbit Limo is an established car service in the Hamptons that provides reliable, luxury transportation throughout North and South Forks. We also provide car service to the Hamptons from NYC and all local airports.

1) Gibson Lane Beach, Sagaponack

Gibson Lane Beach is known as a quiet, unassuming ocean beach located off of Gibson Lane in Sagaponack Village. The vibe is low-key and relaxed, but that’s partly because the local residents prefer it that way. There’s very little public parking available on Gibson Lane, and the vast majority of spaces require expensive permits if you’re not a resident.

But who says you have to park to enjoy this great beach? You can simply use a Hamptons car service to drop you off, so you don’t have to worry about any parking passes or spaces at all.

What to know

  • Quiet & somewhat secluded

  • No lifeguards or facilities

  • Car service drop-off recommended to avoid parking permits/fines

2) Two Mile Hollow Beach, East Hampton Village

Only a few miles up the shoreline from the mega-popular Main Beach in East Hampton, Two Mile Hallow Beach is a great option for those seeking a chiller vibe. To be fair, Two Mile Hallow Beach can get crowded too during the peak summer season, as all Hamptons beaches can. But it doesn’t always attract the same volume of large family groups, resulting in a quieter atmosphere.

Once again, parking is limited and expensive (generally requiring a full season pass from the village). So grab a ride from your favorite local limo company to avoid the hassle of parking entirely.

What to know

  • Lively but generally more breathing room than Main Beach

  • Lifeguard during peak season

  • Car service drop-off recommended to avoid parking permits/fines

3) Maidstone Park Beach, East Hampton

This is a bay beach, which means it generally attracts much fewer people than the oceanfront locations. Maidstone Park Beach has a local, park-like feel. Plus, since it’s on the bay, the water is calmer and shallower, making it ideal for small children, kayaking and paddleboarding. It also has picnic areas, restrooms, a playground and stunning sunsets over the bay.

You have to be a resident to park here (or at least have a resident parking permit) – and the non-resident options are even more limited than the other beaches above. So if you’re within biking distance, take your bike – otherwise, use a car service to make your beach day so much easier.

What to know

  • Lifeguard during peak season

  • Picnic pavilion with tables and grills

  • No non-resident parking. Car service drop-off recommended.
